Professor
Dr. Md. Shamimur Rahman has completed the Ph.D. degree on Material Science and Engineering ( Hard Thin Film Deposition on Titanium Alloy to Characterize its Effect on the Fatigue and Fretting Fatigue Fracture Behavior) from the School of Intelligent Structure and Mechanics System Engineering of The University of Tokushima, Japan. His doctoral research was “Effect of hard thin film coating on fatigue and fracture behavior of Titanium alloy”. Continuation with doctoral research he is carrying his research on erosion properties of multilayer coating. He is carrying out the researches on coating technology based on spray pyrolysis and spin method. Ceramic coating, doping and co-doping of different ceramic materials to produce nanoparticles and nano-composites are highly focused. He has visited a several countries like England, Germany, Japan, India, China, regarding his research work. Mr. Rahman was invited by Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute of West Bengal, India as a Visiting Professor. He is playing an important role on this field of research all over the country. He is the founder head of the Glass and Ceramic Engineering Department (Erstwhile) which had been opened on 2009 in RUET. He joined in the mechanical engineering department as a lecturer in 1999. He is graduated on mechanical engineering. He has published a number of international journals and international conference research papers. Also, a number of papers are in pipeline for publishing.
